Abhi & Sanah

Dancing, merrymaking, and laughter. These words carry their own weight in meaning. On Abhi and Sanah’s ‘Big Day’, they transcended those meanings, giving everyone present a taste of what nirvana could feel like.

We used an exquisite blend of light and shadow to capture some of the finer moments of this special day. In other shots, we decided to let in all the light we could, so everyone can fully appreciate the beauty and effort that went into making Abhi-Sanah’s wedding one for the books.

The event took place in the revered halls of Crown Plaza (Chennai). It was there that family and friends gathered to celebrate the enviable bond shared by this beautiful couple. Being a costume designer sure did pay off for Sanah who designed her own lehengas for the day. From their complex weave and embroidery to their overall stunning visual impact, her dresses and gowns stole the spotlight more times than we could count.

Few grooms looked as good in a tux as Abhi, who came across as a movie star to all those who saw him walking with his beloved. He even gave the kurta a run for its money. As handsome as he is accomplished, Abhi’s true worth can be seen in the way he looks at Sanah – with love, and a desire to keep her happy all the days of her life.

Often, we at Roving Lens felt we were shooting a Bollywood romance movie. Speaking of which, the venue was packed with friends and family boogieing to a select mashup of Bollywood hits. It was sublime chaos on the dance floor, and we loved capturing every moment of it. Between the music and the dancing, we felt we’d stepped in a different world, one where weddings held sacred value but with a touch of carefree wonder.

Sanah’s shots with Abhi reveal how much emotion was jam-packed between the two of them. From the way she smiled with all her heart to the way his eyes glistened when she was around him, this handsome couple seemed to bring out the light in each other.

The happiness of family members and well-wishers couldn’t be hidden even if we tried. They were smiling, laughing, dancing, and mingling like there was no tomorrow. Such was the intensity of happiness that graced the Abhi and Sanah’s wedding that we left later that evening realizing that we may have been part of something truly magical.
